Venue
The conference will take place in the stunningly beautiful Villa de Leyva at an altitude of 2100m in the mountains of central Colombia. The village is three hours by bus from the Colombian capital Bogota and has a population of just under 10,000 people. Villa de Leyva is one of the finest ‘colonial style’ villages of Colombia, and has been designated as a National Monument. It was formerly the centre of the Muiscas society, one of the most important of the ancient civilizations of northern South America. The Plaza Mayor (Main Square) is particularly fine and boasts many excellent restaurants and shops selling artisanal handcraft. Many festivals are held throughout the year, and the food, water and tree festivals are attended by thousands of people.
