Introduction to ERT Training Courses
Ecology is a multidisciplinary and ever changing science. It can be used to describe the distribution of species and habitats, understand environmental responses to human activities, and develop and evaluate land management and conservation actions. New ecological tools and techniques are constantly being developed, and it is vital that current and future ecologists have the knowledge and skills to use them appropriately. ERT offers training and capacity building services for professionals within the ecological sector. We also train the next generation of scientists within higher education, and provide access to ecology-related studies for ecological volunteers.

The UK has a large number of highly skilled volunteers that contribute their time to long-term species monitoring programmes, ecological surveys, animal marking (e.g. bird ringing), and a range of habitat management activities. ERT supports their work by providing training in key areas.
These include the following, but we are always happy to discuss individual needs: |
| • |
Easily understood statistics courses to allow volunteers to analyse their own data.
|
| • |
Courses to allow volunteer groups to publish their data analyses. |
| • |
Courses aimed at specific field skills e.g. identification, sampling, tracking, etc. |
|
|
|
| |
Please contact us if you wish to discuss the development of new training courses for individuals or your organisation. We provide a range of services supporting the development of bespoke courses to support your long-term goals. This can be based on your own training needs assessment, or an evaluation of these conducted by us within your organisation. In either case, we will work with you to generate a cost-effective timetable for training delivery. |
